The Story of the Ghost Catcher
New Works by Cherry Moth Cake
October 6-28, 2018

BYOB Opening Reception

Our good friends at Cherry Moth Cake (aka Nick and Lindsay DiFabbio) are back, but this time for more than just a few hours!

The Story of the Ghost Catcher is a telling of the pivotal moment in the created works of Nick DiFabbio / Cherry Moth Cake where we see how things came to be. Come and explore the world of the Ghost Catcher and experience the origin story of the ghosts!

Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, October 6, 7-10pm to check out the new works and enjoy music by DJ Sean Doe plus complimentary snacks and soft drinks (BYOB if you want to have alcohol). Nick and Lindsay will be in attendance.

For BYOB, we are steps away from Beermiscuous, one of Chicago's best craft beer shops — 350 cold beers and ciders (over 200 local beers!) are available in a singles format, allowing you to create your own mix-and-match variety pack for the event!

Exhibit continues through October 28, 2018.

Sales/Preview Note: There will not be an online preview for this exhibit, and in-store sales will start promptly at 7pm on the 6th. Line tickets that will set purchase order will be available at the store when we open at 10am (no one likes having to stand in a line all day, after all). Any unsold works will be made available on our gallery website in the week following the opening — sign up for our Gallery Previews email list at http://previews.rotofugi.com to receive notice when online sales are available. Thank you!

September Exhibit: The Little Friends of Printmaking and Tuesday Bassen

Greetings from California
New Works by Tuesday Bassen & The Little Friends of Printmaking
September 8- 30, 2018

BYOB Opening Reception
Saturday, September 8, 7-10pm

Get ready for a dose of sunshine from our next exhibit, Greetings from California, by The Little Friends of Printmaking(LFOP for short) and Tuesday Bassen!

We've been friends with LFOP for what seems like ages, and they are undeniably wonderful printmakers and artists...for this exhibit they return to the midwest (after moving from Wisconsin to Los Angeles several years ago) with new prints. We're always impressed by not only how adorable Melissa and JW's work is, but how flawlessly they execute.

They'll be joined by one of the wonderful folks they've gotten to know since moving to LA, none other than the fantastic Tuesday Bassen! Tuesday is an award-winning illustrator working for clients like Lucky Peach, The New Yorker, Nike, Adidas and more plus she's got a great store called Friend Mart, focused on selling not only her work, but other independently owned artist brands. Tuesday's work is both smart and sassy!

Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, September 8, 7-10pm to check out the new works and enjoy music by DJ Sean Doe plus complimentary snacks and soft drinks (BYOB if you want to have alcohol). Both the Little Friends and Tuesday will be in attendance.

For BYOB, we are steps away from Beermiscuous, one of Chicago's best craft beer shops — 350 cold beers and ciders (over 200 local beers!) are available in a singles format, allowing you to create your own mix-and-match variety pack for the event!

Exhibit continues through September 30, 2018.

May Exhibit: Netherland Returns

Worth a Thousand Words
New Works by David "Netherland" van Alphen
May 12-June 3, 2018

BYOB Opening Reception
Saturday, May 12, 7-10pm

We're excited to be welcoming back our good friend and former Rotofugi Gallery curator David "Netherland" van Alphen for a new exhibit opening this coming Saturday!

Artist David "Netherland" van Alphen lives and works in Chicago, Illinois. Though David's family was from Holland, he was born in Toronto, and has been in Chicago for the last thirteen years.

Being a child of the 70's has influenced him greatly and is reflected in most of his work. Juxtaposing images, his color choices and the new modern context comes through his nostalgic imagery and helps to isolate and enhance them into a beautiful montage.

David does not resize, photocopy or scan any of the images he uses. All images are cut directly from their original source and and pieced together to keep each piece unique. David has shown at many galleries throughout the U.S. and sold out his first solo show in January 2008.

Join us the evening of Saturday, May 12, 7-10pm for the opening reception. Many of the artists will be in attendance, plus we’ll have snacks and sodas available (BYOB if you want to have alcohol) and music by the always entertaining DJ Sean Doe.

For BYOB, we are steps away from Beermiscuous, one of Chicago's best craft beer shops — 350 cold beers and ciders (over 200 local beers!) are available in a singles format, allowing you to create your own mix-and-match variety pack for the event!

The exhibit continues through June 3, 2018.
