Up Next in the Gallery: Valency Genis

Join us the evening of Friday, March 4, 7-10pm for the opening of Spirit Animals, new works by Valency Genis.

We've had the pleasure of featuring Valency's wonderful sculptures in group exhibits in the past and wanted to bring you a wider selection of these amazing pieces, so this will be a full gallery solo exhibit!

While studying for her BFA at the University of New Mexico, Valency discovered that she had the power to create creatures and control their aesthetics, while minimizing the tragedy associated with taxidermied animals. She takes an almost Dr. Frankenstein-like glee in crafting her unique animals, drawing on influences ranging from Dr. Seuss to Natural History Museum dioramas. She graduated in 2011 and has since exhibited her works continuously at galleries throughout the US and abroad.

Valency will be in attendance at the opening reception.

For those unable to attend, exhibit pieces will be offered to our preview list on the day of the opening, beginning at 2pm Central (email goes out at 10am), you can sign up at http://previews.rotofugi.com.

Exhibit continues through March 27, 2016.

Join us the evening of Friday, February 5, 7-10pm for the opening reception of Bear Necessities, New Works by Chris Austin.

Chris first exhbited with us as part of 2013's Northern Lights Canadian artist group exhibit and we instantly fell in love with his evocative, lively style and, well, bears. His works, often painted on reclaimed wooden surfaces and found objects, evoke both a love of nature and a striking range of emotion and expression.

We're excited to have Chris' first US solo exhibit and hope you enjoy his works as much as we do. Chris will be in attendance at the opening so stop in and say hi!

Exhibit continues through Febraury 28, 2016.

Robot Envy: Zenith Book Release and Exhibit

(Artwork by Ryan Hall)

Join us the evening of Friday, December 5, 7-10pm, for a special book release and group exhibit for Robot Envy: Zenith.

Robot Envy is an online community with thousands of fans and hundreds of artists coming together to celebrate the world’s best robot art. The idea was launched back in 2012 with the successful kickstarter campaign of a specialty sketchbook created by davpunk. Since then, the Robot Envy network has flourished, promoting a new artist every week. This “robolution” inspired a second sketchbook titled, “Robot Envy: Reconstruction,” which featured brand new designs from davpunk. Founder Dave Pasciuto (davpunk) said, “We have curated some really amazing artwork over the past 3 years. It’s time to promote the creators and bring their work to life. This is why we launched Robot Envy: Zenith.”

Robot Envy: Zenith features a collection of the finest robot artwork in existence. One giant robot book; over 60 incredible artists; illustrators and sculptors from around the world. The book features some of the most inspiring artists today—like Jake Parker, Steve Talkowski (Sketchbot), Dacosta, Brian Despain, Boris Bakliza, Emerson Tung, Bambino Monkey and Eric Joyner—just to name a few!

The book itself is an impressive full-color, 8.5 x 11 (portrait orientation), hardcover, 256 page art book. The interior pages will beautifully display all of the amazing artwork in vivid detail. No one has done this before until now. This is one GIANT ROBOT book (published by Magnetic Press)!

The exhibit will feature prints and originals by Dave Pasciuto, Amy Reyes, Mr. Walters, James Demski – JIMBOT, GABO, Travis Overstreet, Kyle Bice, Chris Boyd, Colin Craig, Jack Etheridge, Jim Terry, Jim Nelson, Dave Pryor, Stephen Neale and more!

Exhibit continues through February 28, 2016.
